While I often take inspiration for my art from things I stumble upon in daily life, it is becoming more frequent where I go on outings specifically for the purpose of taking photos to use in artwork. I knew I wanted to make a piece depicting Minnehaha Falls just a few miles from my home. So on one of the later summer days, when I knew time was running out for this quest, I took my dog on an expedition. We may have gotten lost and covered in mud. I got very turned around by going though some of the hidden paths along the riverbank, and I’m still not totally sure how I made it to a place I recognized. But I survived and my dog loved the adventure.

This artwork was created using 31 colors of alcohol markers to make thousands of overlapping circles.
