This large original is 8″ x 10″ (total framed dimensions 12″ x 16″). Due to the size and fragility of shipping large framed pieces, there is an additional $50 for shipping. On the day I went exploring in search of Oregon waterfalls to use as inspiration for this series, my husband was back in Minnesota in the middle of negotiations for a new job. The base of a roaring waterfall is not the best suited for phone calls discussing employment contract details, but ultimately he made the decision to take a new position. It is never easy to step away from what is known, even if what you know is challenging or you have outgrown it. Waterfalls, especially the ones that twist and turn through rocks and trees like Bridal Veil Falls, are a natural embodiment of the reward that comes from embracing the risks when you need to move forward.

This artwork was made with 65 different fabrics that were cut up into individual shapes and layered with glue.
