It is hard to convey the mammoth scale of these waterfalls within the constraints of an 8” x 10” area. In the Columbia River Gorge, one of the first significant waterfalls you come to along the historic highway is Latourell Falls. This portion of the falls is a 224 foot drop straight down the side of a cliff. When you walk along the base of this, the thundering sound and abundant mist envelop you. It’s amazing what happens when you come across some water with no where else to go but down.
This artwork was made on a wood panel. The lines were created with a wood burning tool directly on the wood and then the dots were painted one by one with acrylic paint and a very small paintbrush.
