Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes. One fall evening, my husband and I found ourselves on the edge of one of these lakes. An unknown dog came up to us, and my husband spent about 45 minutes playing fetch with this dog as the sun was fading away. He would throw progressively bigger and bigger sticks, first on the shore, and then off the dock into the lake. The dog loved every second of running and swimming after these branches. These are the kind of evenings lakes are made for.
This artwork was made with individual pieces of embroidery floss that were glued to the background surface one by one and pushed into place with tiny scissors and a toothpick.
