This framed canvas print is 16″ x 20″ (total framed dimensions 18″ x 22″). The canvas is stretched on stretcher bars and set in a floating frame. Due to the size and fragility of shipping large canvas pieces, there is an additional $30 for shipping. I grew up in Portland, where there is Powell’s City of Books – it is a winding maze of colored rooms and miscellaneous spaces. Everywhere you look is another bookshelf for every topic of book imaginable. It is very easy to get turned around. In spite of that, it is cozy. You are enveloped by the colors and smell of books, and the contented background hum of people stumbling upon exactly what they were looking for. Books are tactile, and each one has its own character. In a bookstore, all of your senses feel the excitement of endless opportunities.

This artwork was made with 92 colors of embroidery floss. Individual pieces were glued to the background surface one by one and pushed into place with tiny scissors and an X-acto knife.
