I’m a bit of a coffee snob. Not enough of a snob that I avoid drinking hotel coffee or other “swill” as my dad would call it, but I am enough that I am immediately disappointed when I order a drink and can tell just by the look of it that it won’t be what I am looking for. My go-to order is an americano (just espresso and water with cream), so when I get handed a cup of coffee with the beautiful and thick crema on top, I love knowing it will be worth savoring. Coffee shops are the same way – there are plenty of mediocre place out there, but the happiness from walking in where the vibes are just right is one of my favorite things. The best spots are a perfect mix of coziness, creativity, and productivity.

This artwork was made with 99 colors of embroidery floss. Individual pieces were glued to the background surface one by one and pushed into place with tiny scissors and an X-acto knife.
