When I first started this piece, I hadn’t yet participated in art shows, managed a website for my art, or displayed my art in gallery spaces. Because of the scale of this piece, I would take it out periodically and make progress towards finishing it, but had to put it away for other projects. Finally, after 5 years, I was able to complete it. This piece was inspired by a special spot near Minnehaha Falls in Minnesota.
This artwork was made using three different sizes of cardstock paper hole punches in a variety of colors and patterns. Each dot was glued down individually and put in place using tweezers. My estimate is that around 30,000 dots were used to create this triptych.
