There are a few things that my dog is good at (he would get an A+ in chewing up dog toys). There are many things that he is sub-par at, like leaving the dog park before he wants to. However, he is always good at keeping tabs on the birds, turtles, and various creatures that occupy the lake’s edge as we walk by. I try to explain to him that they are just living their lives and don’t need to be bothered, but I don’t think that am very persuasive. At least I never have to be worried that I will be attacked by a duck – a goose could still overtake the two of us though.

This artwork was made with 55 colors of embroidery floss. Individual pieces were glued to the background surface one by one and pushed into place with tiny scissors and an X-acto knife.
