I was sitting in a restaurant alone, enjoying a peaceful lunch in one of my favorite places. The atmosphere was cool and dim, while outside was a perfect sunny late spring day. The limited lighting and tall booths made me feel like I had my own little pocket of the world. But behind me was a lone window with light pouring through the dense perimeter trees and allowing a few potted plants on the windowsill to thrive. I loved the wood building that was layered between the greenery, and the red brick was a beautiful contrast in this little scene. Using just fabrics, I worked to capture the glow of soaking in the light.
This artwork was made with 64 different fabrics that were cut up into individual shapes and layered with glue.
